Chief Accountant (Remote – Eastern Europe)

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Chief Accountant to lead our accounting function. This role requires a strong background in U.S. accounting practices, proven leadership experience, and a stable work history. The ideal candidate will oversee financial operations, manage a team, and ensure accuracy and compliance across all accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, and reconciliations
• Manage and supervise the bookkeeping/accounting team
• Review financial records for accuracy and completeness
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
• Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting standards and internal policies
• Implement and improve accounting procedures and controls
• Coordinate with leadership on financial planning and reporting

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Chief Accountant or in a senior accounting leadership role
• Experience managing and leading an accounting team
• Minimum 2+ years of experience using QuickBooks Desktop (required)
• Experience working with U.S. (American) accounting standards and processes
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
• Proven job stability (consistent, long-term employment history preferred)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and controls

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with U.S.-based companies or clients
• Background in auditing, financial analysis, or process improvement
• Ability to manage a remote team effectively
